2023 Pi Day Talks

There’s 3,14159 reasons to join Math Attack Society’s annual Pi Day Afternoon of Talks! Math Attack Society is proud to announce that our Pi Day Afternoon of Talks will take place on Sunday, March 12th from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM MST! The event will feature various math professors and math enthusiasts from across Alberta speaking about creative concepts and applications in math. The goal of this conference is to introduce junior high students to interesting topics not typically taught at school or show them unique ways math can be applied to our daily lives! The event will take place via Zoom, and is completely free! There will also be a raffle for students who answer difficult math questions! 2022 Team Math Attack Contest Scheduled to December 17, 2022

CALLING ALL MATH ENTHUSIASTS!

Do you like friendly competition? Do you like having fun with your friends? Are you in grade 9 or under? If you said yes to any of these questions, Math Attack Society has the event for you!

We are hosting our annual Team Math Attack Contest on December 17th, 2022! This event will be held in person in three cities: Calgary, Edmonton, and Lethbridge. The event registration is in teams of 3, so make sure to grab two of your friends to come with you! Or, if you don’t have people you would like to be in a team with, you can register and we will do our best to pair you with a team that you’ll have a great experience with! REMEMBER ALL TEAMMATES MUST REGISTER INDIVIDUALLY!

The format of the contest will be as follows:
Part A will be a team contest that will feature 20 numerical response questions that you will be given 1 hour to complete as a team. These questions will be of varying difficulty.
Part B will be a relay contest that will consist of 5 rounds with 3 questions each. The questions will be answered in succession, by a different teammate for each of the three questions.

2022 STEM Webinars

We hope that you are all having a wonderful summer so far!

Math Attack Society is excited to offer two free online webinars discussing a variety of different STEM topics. These sessions will take place from 5–6:30 pm MDT on July 31 and August 6, 2022.

In these webinars, we will be giving a brief overview of the high school curriculum regarding science, biology, chemistry, physics, and math, including the Alberta Education, Advanced Placement (AP), and International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculums.
